Full-Day Tuition-Based Prekindergarten
The district’s full-day PreK is a competitive and curriculum-based prgorm for families looking at childcare alternatives. Tuition includes breakfast, snack and lunch. The program meets parents’ needs with early drop-off times starting at 7 a.m. and free, structured after-school care until 5:30 p.m. with a light dinner provided.
Dual Language Program
Irving ISD's two-way dual language program produces bilingual, bi-literate and multicultural learners who are critical thinkers, leaders and contributors in a diverse and competitive world. Program classes are offered in both English and Spanish for interested students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Irving Develops Entrepreneurial Achievers (IDEA)
Launching in the 2017-2018 school year, this program provides all fifth-grade students an opportunity to collaborate with community mentors and in teams to find solutions for real-world problems. In addition, eighth-grade students take part in an entrepreneur course with an opportunity to study at the district’s School of Entrepreneurship in high school.
Robust Fine Arts Program
Irving ISD is proud to offer a robust fine arts program for all students in the district. From orchestra starling in sixth grade to nontraditional courses such as jazz, Mariachi and contemporary band/choir, students can choose a program that fits their individual interests. In addition, instruments are provided cost-free district wide and facilities have received upgraded renovations to ensure students are competition ready.
Early College Start
All high school students have the opportunity to take classes for dual enrollment (high school and college credit at the same time) and/or concurrent enrollment (college credit only). Students can earn an associate's degree along with their high school diploma. The district covers the cost of tuition, fees and books at no expense to the student or family.
Business and Career Development
Irving ISD’s nationally recognized and award-winning Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs offer a rigorous curriculum to assist students in becoming college and career ready. Every student can choose from the many opportunities available to earn industry certifications through 16 career clusters.
